Shellac Announce New Album

Dude Incredible slated for September 16 release

Shellac have announced that their fifth album, Dude Incredible, will be released on September 16 via Touch And Go, report Pitchfork. It’s their first since 2007’s Excellent Italian Greyhound, and was recorded at frontman Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studio over the last few years, making good on what he told us in our interview last year. Pre-order it from the label here.

As per usual, the band are taking a no frills approach: "This record will have no formal promotion. There will be no advertisements, no press or radio promotion, no e-promotion, no promotional or review copies, no promotional gimmick items, and otherwise no free lunch." Remember, though: "There is no comma in ‘Dude Incredible’; like ‘Sir Duke’ or King Friday, for example." No ham sandwiches maybe, but they have got these live dates coming up:

JULY

Sun 6 – Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL

Mon 7 – Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL

Thu 10-Sat 12 – ATP Iceland festival, Keflavík, Iceland

OCTOBER

Fri 24 – Debaser, Stockholm, Sweden

Tue 28 – BLÅ, Oslo, Norway

Wed 29 – Pustervik, Gothenburg, Sweden
