Liars' face-melting Mess track melts Liars' faces

Nowness have just posted the video for Liars' 'Pro Anti Anti' from this year's Mess, which is getting released as a single via Mute on June 30. It's an appropriately destructive bit of film from director Yoonha Park, who enlists technology and design companies Direct Dimensions and New Project to scan and make models of band members Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill's heads (drummer Julian Gross is still recovering from a back injury so couldn't take part in the 3D hijinks), only to have them turned into multi-coloured, waxy goo melts. "Maybe what becomes interesting about technological possibilities is what happens if you mess it up," says Andrew of the idea behind the video. "The same applies to the way we made music with computers for the record: we did exactly the opposite of what the manual told us to do, because that’s when the really interesting stuff happens."
