Modern Girls - She Sold A Million
There is one guy behind this band if I am correct. He is from the UK and moved to Berlin like so many others... People make a huge mistake when they look at the Berghain scene and wonder why they only find a great location but not much creativity or anything with imagination that wasn't done better a decade earlier. I still have hope though. But it has been a decade, and Los Angeles has had more impact by snapping one finger.

So if you look in Berlin in the right places, you find a band like Modern Girls.

How can I describe them? It's like TV personalities, Syd Barrett, Captain Beefheart, lo-fi indie... No! Forget what I just said, just check it out for yourself.

I find it very refreshing when I hear music that was not produced on a laptop and with an analogue tape recorder instead and the person behind it captured real emotional moments, impossible to recreate. I hope Modern Girls will do more in the future. The internet is not helping introverts.
