The J.B.'s - Food For Thought
This record is from Double Four Records in Stockport in the late 80s. The brothers who owned the shop were both massive soul fans, and as I seemed to be pretty much the only person who was buying black music from them at the time, I got to go through their back room and to their houses to sift through tunes that were not on sale. These buying sessions helped me build up a big collection of classic tunes. Proper personal service! This album does not have a single average moment, from the classic party funk of 'Pass The Peas' to the mellow 'Theme From King Heroin'. Just the sound of a ridiculously tight band having a brilliant time.
