Band perform V (Island Song) for multi-camera clip ahead of Barbican show and US tour

Having released one of our favourite records of last year with their third album Field Of Reeds, These New Puritans are keeping themselves busy. First off, they'll be playing a one-off concert at the Barbican in London on April 17, called TNP: Expanded, which will see the band's ranks massed by the Synergy Vocals choir and the brass, string and percussion ensemble Heritage Orchestra to perform both Field Of Reeds and Lost Chords, "old and new works, worked and re-worked by the band". The band's website also promises "NEW music written especially for this concert". They'll then be heading to the US for four dates, playing New York's Bowery Ballroom on April 30, SPACE in Evanston on May 2, the Empty Bottle in Chicago, May 3, and The Roxy in Los Angeles, May 5.

Before that, Nowness have posted a new video they've made with Phil Poole, featuring the band performing 'V (Island Song)', shot using multiple cameras ahead of their gig at Electric Brixton last year. Says lead singer Jack Barnett: "The motivation for coming to the US this time was the positive reaction to the two Hollywood Bowl shows we played with Björk last year. There will be thirty or more musicians on stage. From chromatic gong players to Adrian Peacock, the basso profundo singer who has one of the lowest voices in the country: during the album recording, it was amazing to hear some of the frequencies that came out of him."
