The Brian Jonestown Massacre – Aufheben
I think Anton Newcombe is a genius. It's just that kind of trancey, trippy thing. If Brian Jones was still alive he'd probably make an album like this. It's really dense and psychedelic, but in a really cool way. I think Anton was a bit misrepresented in Dig!. I think that was just a particularly bad two months of his life when he was under a lot of pressure. It didn't really do him any favours. He's very driven about his music and very serious. When you meet him you don't really recognise him as the person from that film.
