GIT Awards Announce One To Watch Prize

Under-18 artist or band to be rewarded with studio time and festival slot

Liverpool’s GIT Awards have announced a new prize for this year, the One To Watch prize to an upcoming under-18 artist or band. The winner will be named at the ceremony at the city’s Kazimier venue on April 11, and will receive studio time at Parr Street Studios, a slot at the Liverpool International Music Festival in August and mentoring from the awards’ sponsors, the Merseyside Arts Foundation.

Mike Aitken, the director of Liverpool’s Royal Standard gallery, has also been confirmed today as the designer of the GITs’ other two prizes, the GIT Award itself and the Inspiration Award. There’s still time to get in entries ahead of the closing date this Friday, January 31: send four tracks to getintothis@gmail.com or alternatively post to Peter Guy, The GIT Award, Liverpool Daily Post & ECHO, PO Box 48, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L69 3EB.
