The Quietus are hugely excited to announce that we will be curating a stage at next year’s Desertfest, the excellent metal festival that will once again be taking over Camden Town in London from April 25-27 2014.
So far, Black Rainbows, The Machine, Monkey 3, Grandloom and War Wolf have been announced for next year’s line-up – head to Desertfest’s website for full details and to get hold of tickets. As we observed in our review of this year’s event, which featured Pentagram, Bongripper, Conan and Hexvessel on a mighty line-up, for those wishing to kneel at the altar of the riff, Desertfest is their church: "What it’s about is riffs – big, fuck-off, bone shaking, bong rattling riffs. It’s about the sort of riffs that compel you to involuntarily headbang until you’ve got Czech neck; it’s about heeding the ancient, deafening command to immerse yourself in that most fleeting and intangible of realms that is simply ‘the riff’ – Page knew it, Iommi knew it and Pike knew it. And now you know it too." Not only that, but we concluded: "[I]n only its second year it has cemented itself in the festival calendar as arguably the best festival of its type in the UK".
Stay tuned to the site for a full announcement on our line-up later this week.
