Second single from London indie quartet, out next month

London's Desperate Journalist (first things first, that name comes from The Cure's Peel session quip at Paul Morley, renaming their track 'Grinding Halt' as 'Desperate Journalist In Ongoing Meaningful Review Situation') are gearing up to release their second track, 'Organ', on November 11.

The band only came together in January this year, but have been honing their sound through a string of live shows and their previous single 'Cristina' (listen at the foot of the piece), leading up this thoroughly ace second release. An orchestral swell leads up to hulking, crunching guitar bombast before a brilliantly post-punk verse sets in, more than a little reminiscent of Savages, all tight drums and bass line, singer Jo Bevan's louche vocals adorned by ringing guitar strums, before it doubles back for the thundering, earworm of a chorus - have a listen below:

The track will be out on the Club Fandango promoters' Label Fandango singles series - head here for full details - and you can get hold of its B-side 'Distance' in exchange for an e-mail address here.

The band will be launching the single at the beginning of November, the first of a run of dates - have a look below and stay tuned to their Facebook for updates:
