COMPETITION: Win Watain Merch
The Quietus , August 19th, 2013 11:14

Enter our competition to win a selection of merchandise from the Swedish black metal crew below

As Quietus metal columnist in residence Toby Cook has recently bellowed from the rooftops (well, err, his track-by-track preview), Watain's new album The Wild Hunt, released today, is a fierce proposition.

"The Swedes have arguably grown into one of the most important black metal bands on the planet – thanks as much to the bloody and near-transcendental nature of their live show as much as anything else," he enthused. "In a genre defined by extremes, yet that is producing some of the most diverse and inventive music around, the glory of Watain – although obvious by the time of previous album Lawless Darkness – is shown in full majesty throughout the entire album. If the question is, 'how do you stay true to black metal and yet fill arenas?', then The Wild Hunt is the answer."

The band have kindly given us a selection of Watain-branded gear to give away to three Quietus readers, each of whom will receive a Watain t-shirt, poster and a set of stickers. To be in with a chance of winning, just answer the following question.

Q: Watain released their debut studio album in 2000, to mixed reviews. But what was it called?

A: Death's Head Hearse
B: Rabbit's Death Hearse
C: Rabid Death's Curse
D: Death Becomes Hoarse

Send your answers to comps@thequietus.com with 'WATAIN' as the subject line, by next Monday, 26th August. To read the Quietus Competition Terms & Conditions, click here.
