Later this year, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, a key part of landmark projects COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, will be publishing a retrospective collecting photographs from across h/er career.
The book will be strictly limited edition, available in two formats: standard, with a print run of 1323, and deluxe, of which only 333 will be made and sold exclusively through publisher First Third’s website.
For the book, P-Orridge trawled h/er archive with artist Leigha Mason to bring over 350 photographs to light for inclusion, which are featured alongside personal annotations from P-Orridge and a foreword Q&A with journalist Mark Paytress.
The deluxe version comes in a PTV-inspired box, which also includes "a poster of ‘intimate’ Gen and Jaye Polaroids, a 96-page art catalogue [featuring work from the current retrospective exhibition in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania] and three original 7” singles specially recorded by Genesis and friends for this project." Not only that, but the first 100 orders will come with a personalised message requested by the buyer from P-Orridge.
