It’s less than a fortnight now before Deerhunter host the very final ATP summer camp festival, taking place at Camber Sands from June 21-23.
As we’ve previously reported, the line-up’s full to the brim. Deerhunter will be playing three albums – Cryptograms, Microcastle and Halcyon Digest in full – with The Breeders also stopping by to perform their landmark third album Last Splash. Beyond that, there’s a barrage of excellence on the bill: Steve Reich’s there, along with the London Sinfonietta, as are former Talking Heads Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth’s Tom Tom Club, William Basinski, Pere Ubu, Black Dice, Laetitia Sadier, No Age (presumably debuting material from their newly-announced fourth album An Object), Verity Susman and Kim Gordon, collaborating with Japanese artist Ikue Mori and experimental guitarist Bill Nace. Quietus favourites Oneida will be performing with avant-garde luminary Rhys Chatham, while the band’s Kid Millions will also be performing with Ex Models.
What’s more, Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox has put together a mixtape of acts on the bill – get hold of it below:
Head over to ATP’s website for full details and to get hold of tickets, and in the meantime, to further whet your appetite, we’re excited to host an archive clip of Cox talking to the legendary minimalist composer Terry Riley, filmed at Animal Collective’s 2011 ATP – have a watch below:
