Cult New York artist to play UK debut at London's Shacklewell Arms alongside Vindicatrix next week

BleeD have announced that they are to play host to cult New York artist Gary Wilson. The show, which finds him playing alongside his band The Blind Dates, takes place at London's Shacklewell Arms next Tuesday, 21st May. Wilson is best known for his 1977 debut album You Think You Really Know Me - a cult proto new-wave/jazz/electronics record that remained a staunchly underground concern for over two decades, until reissued in 2002 by Stone's Throw. In more recent years he's released a string of new records for labels like Stone's Throw and Western Vinyl, though this London show will mark his UK debut.

Playing alongside Wilson will be Mordant Music's Vindicatrix, who runs a neat line in Scott Walker-esque baritone histrionics and soot-blackened, sub-driven rhythms - his most recent album Mengamuk was one of the Quietus' favourites of 2012.
