Brighton event on tour for four dates ahead of upcoming compilation

To mark the release of their upcoming compilation, a stormingly good 28-track, double-disc collection out on August 5 via Front & Follow, The Outer Church, Brighton's regular night of leftfield art, is heading on tour.

The four dates begin next Thursday, July 25, with a show in their hometown featuring Hong Kong In The 60s, Cherry, Death And Vanilla and Howlround, the new guise of Robin The Fog, the BBC World Service studio manager who created last year's excellent The Ghosts Of Bush House, a set of treated recordings made as the station departed their former headquarters (read our Quietus Interview with him here).

Elsewhere, David Aird's electronic project Vindicatrix, the 'slurtronic folk' of Kemper Norton (subject of a recent In Extremis interview) and Old Apparatus side project Harem line up in London's The Waiting Room on August 1 alongside Some Truths and These Feathers Have Plumes, while Pye Corner Audio, Embla Quickbeam, Wrong Signals, VHS Head and The Wyrding Module are all billed for further dates in Brighton and Manchester.

Says man behind The Outer Church, Joseph Stannard: "The Outer Church is of course based in Brighton and we'll be holding two launch events there, but we've worked with artists from all over the UK and the world, and the release of our first compilation through Manchester label Front & Follow provides the perfect opportunity to dilate portals elsewhere..."

Have a look at the dates in full below and head over to The Outer Church's site to get hold of tickets; in the meantime, listen to the magnificent Grumbling Fur contribution to the compilation, 'Tilda Holds A Sword And Lilies', following:
