Producer and Strokes frontman join cast of collaborators for Random Access Memories
Pharrell Williams and The Strokes' Julian Casablancas are both set to feature on Daft Punk’s new album, Random Access Memories, report the NME.
They join fellow collaborators such as Panda Bear, Gonzales and Giorgio Moroder in what looks set to be a flagrantly diverse outing from the French dance duo.
Nile Rodgers, a previously-announced guest on the album, which is set for release on their new label Columbia on April 20, spoke to the magazine with appreciation about joining forces with Daft Punk: "The collaboration felt so unbelievably natural that it made me realise that I need to be in the studio with people. I love partnering with people. And then from that moment, a windfall of recording started happening. I just started going in with whomever I could."
Giorgio Moroder also had praise for the pair as he spoke to Vice, stating: "Daft Punk wanted to do something and do it in a way that's not done by just pushing a note or a chord. You definitely hear that it's nice and full; the drums and the bass have that warm, that full sound. This is like a step forward.”
French website Konbini meanwhile has leaked the track breakdown of the musicians on Random Access Memories, though the duo themselves are yet to divulge the song titles.
