Brian Eno - Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy
I really like this album because, again, he was using conventional instruments in an unconventional way. He was almost torturing them to get different sounds out of them.  We really liked that, because when we first started we didn’t have any money and obviously we didn’t have synthesizers. We were compromising by being in bands with our mates who were art college bands, sort of Deaf School-type bands. I remember one of our great mantras was something Brian Eno had said, “If you’ve got a collection of rubbish instruments, then you’re the only person who has got those rubbish instruments, so that’s your sound. Celebrate it.”
