LISTEN: Conan/Bongripper Split
Laurie Tuffrey , March 23rd, 2013 10:54

Get your ears onto this new split 12" ahead of next month's shared tour

With a UK tour featuring support from Humanfly on the cards for next month, Conan and Bongripper are releasing a split 12"/download, 'Beheaded'/'Zero Talent' (artwork above) on Holy Roar Records, and we've got a full stream for your enjoyment below:

Liverpudlians Conan were recently shortlisted for this year's GIT Awards, and they turn in a 17-minute long cut more than exemplifying their self-defined genre of "CAVEMAN BATTLE DOOM". Props to the author of the text accompanying the release's announcement for describing it as "proboscidean" (pertaining to the elephant and its ancestors) - there's heavyweight, crushing-all-comers potency in those jackhammer drums and crawling, primeval guitars underpinning vocals screamed down some vortex from the Pleistocene. There's no change of pace for the Bongripper cut, and the guitars draw on the same Hadean pool of fury, but the bass is more seismic, jumped up to Richter-bothering levels here. In short, an ace double-headed beast of a 12" - pre-order it here.
