Sigur Rós have announced that they'll be releasing their new album, Kveikur (artwork above), on June 17.

It's their seventh album, and their first since signing to XL. Self-produced, it's also their first as a three-piece, following the departure of multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson, confirmed in January. We've got a taster of what to expect with the Andrew Huang-directed video for album cut 'Brennistein' - have a watch below:

They've already announced a headline show at Jodrell Bank on August 30, with support from Factory Floor's Nik Colk Void, Daughter and Poliça - get hold of tickets here - and will be following it with a European tour in November:

Sat 16 - O2 Arena, Dublin
Tue 19 - Nottingham Arena, Nottingham
Wed 20 - Brighton Centre, Brighton
Thu 21 - Wembley Arena, London
Sat 23 - Rockhal, Luxembourg
Sun 24 - Jahrhunderthalle, Frankfurt
Mon 25 - Mitsubishi Electric Hall, Dusseldorf
Wed 27 - Baltiska Hallen, Malmo
Thu 28 - Spektrum, Oslo
