Coming fresh out of their former handbag factory studio in Norfolk, here's the first, Dan Tombs-directed video from electronic trio Transept's forthcoming second album, the elegantly-titled Buff As Fuck. Emerging out of a hefty slab of grizzly keyboard manipulation, a phased chord sequence revolves around under martial snare raps, forging something almost akin to Mogwai's 'I Know You Are But What Am I?'. Here, though, the sonic layering's even heavier, with choral harmonies getting submerged into the mix, forming a concrete, grinding slab of laptop noise.

Buff As Fuck is out on March 25 via Dronehenge Records on CD, download and "clear frosted vinyl" with "screen-printed covers". Nice.

Skrillex would be proud. As would the Grimethorpe Colliery Band (at least for the last five seconds). The video however is an irresponsible experiment with people's health, which is nothing new for those in positions of power. Oops missed the point again prob. However aside from trying to be the baddest middle-aged kids on the (Eastern) block they are very nice chaps in real life and I have a lot of time for their sonic ribaldry. More Trasept - less Martha and the Laibach Muffins.
