Music For Homeowners: The Pre Mix is due mid-February, pending the inclusion of a new reworking by the public

Quietus favourites The Pre New are releasing an album of "mutated mixes/re-written tracks" and live cuts, Music For Homeowners: The Pre Mix (artwork above), next month.

There's space/s on the album for a new version of 'Cathedral City Comedown', given the remix treatment by none other than you, dear reading public! The band are making the stems of the tracks available on their website - get hold of them here - and are strongly encouraging remixers to remake and remodel the track as far as they can. In other words, "the band actively encourage the destruction of the original version".

Say The Pre New: “In a year when ‘HMV are planning opening their first heritage centre and everything else is turning into a museum’ it’s hoped that anyone that tackles this tune ‘has a proper 21st century futurist go at it’ publicly trashing the song, rebuilding and representing it in their own special way.”

All submissions should be sent to premix@theprenew.com by midnight on Monday 4 February, and the band will be posting the best and worst outtakes along the way.

Now, go forth and destroy!
