One of the albums we're really looking forward to in 2013 is the new one by Suede. The bits we've heard are terrific, suggesting that Brett Anderson wasn't lying when he told us "It sounds like a cross between bits of Dog Man Star and bits of Coming Up." But what on earth is Brett on about in this post on the Suede forum? Called 'early next week', it reads "Aniseed kisses and lipstick traces, lemonade sipped in Belgian rooms couldn't replace the graceful notions that clung to me when i clung to you, And they touch you like no one touched you,and when you broke they were there with glue, and their kindness was not a weakness and when they were there they were there for you, But will they love you, the way, the way i loved you ? we jumped over the barriers." Could a preview of a new song be in the offing? Can definitely spot some Brettisms in that if those are lyrics...

What?! No mention of gasoline? How could it be Suede lyrics? I kid! Bring on the new Suede album. I'm ready for it. Suede, Pulp, and St. Etienne were the only British acts without Stephen Duffy involved that got me through the 90s.

Save for some early singles, Suede kind of passed me by during their heyday - I swear by them now, however... Those first 4 albums are all varying degrees of marvelousness. Bring on the new LP, perhaps it'll lure Damon Albarn out of his South Bank Show shit pit?
