Co-director Jenny Moore Leaves Capsule

Founder parts ways with the Supersonic organisers after 13 years

Birmingham-based arts organisation Capsule are set to bid farewell to co-director Jenny Moore.

Moore, who co-founded Capsule, organisers of Quietus favourite festival Supersonic, in 1999 with Lisa Meyer, is departing to spend more time with her family. She says: "Thursday will be my last official day as co-director of Capsule. I will of course always be a Capsule lady/granny at heart and will continue to have a keen interest in its future. Lisa and I founded it as friends with a shared interest in music/art and nothing has changed there, Capsule’s future is very bright and I look forward to seeing it continue to blossom.

"I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that I’ve worked with, especially our core team of Sarah, Laura, Warren and Anne and all our many supporters, for making the past 13 years such an amazing time; unwittingly through Capsule we created an opportunity for ourselves to meet some truly inspirational people which has always been a great reward for all the hard work."

Meyer, on behalf of the organisation, says: "It is with a heavy heart that Capsule say goodbye to co-founder Jenny Moore at the end of the year. Her creative passion and inspiring level of commitment have driven Capsule forward over the years and been central to the organisation’s ethos. All who have worked alongside her will miss her enormously. We wish her the best in her future endeavours, and anyone who has enjoyed a Capsule gig or a Supersonic Festival should raise a glass to her."

She adds, looking to Capsule’s work next year: "Capsule are delighted to have reached our ten year mark with Supersonic Festival and will be taking the opportunity to re-imagine it’s next 10 years. In addition we have been appointed as the curators for the new Library of Birmingham opening season which will see four months of a multi-art form programme being delivered with a unique Capsule twist. Our team are committed to supporting the work of emerging artists and delivering extraordinary events for adventurous audiences."

We’ll be posting updates on next year’s Supersonic when we have them, while Capsule’s programming of events for the Library of Birmingham will lead up to its official opening on September 3 2013; for more details, head to their website here.
