The filmmakers of a documentary about English producer and songwriter Joe Meek entitled A Life In The Death Of Joe Meek are putting out a request for donations to help complete the film. Susan Stahman and Howard S. Berger of Palm Door Films traveled across England, Scotland and the US to interview over 70 people about the pioneering record producer. The feature-length documentary explores the rise, fall and resurrection of Joe Meek, and includes exclusive interviews with Jimmy Page, Steve Howe, Alex Kapranos, Keith Strickland, Edwyn Collins and Huw Bunford.

Stahman and Berger are looking for funding to complete the project via Kickstarter, an online funding platform for creative projects. For information on how to donate and further information about the documentary, head to their Kickstarter page and watch the video below...

This sounds like a no-brainer. Any music geek should have a great interest in this film! And if you're reading The Quietus and are not a music geek, what on earth are you doing here? I look forward to the day when I can see the finished project and wish I had the scratch to kick in for it. That photo of Meek is amazing. He looks like a Charles Burns character. I swear I saw a face like that my old copy of "Skin Deep!"
