Akira The Don Reports From MorrisonCon

Read up on our man's adventures at the comic convention in Las Vegas

A couple of weekends ago, rapper, producer and internet polymath Akira The Don headed out to Las Vegas to play at the three-day MorrisonCon, held September 28-30, the first convention celebrating the work of Glaswegian comics writer Grant Morrison.

While there, Akira played a set with James Dewees of My Chemical Romance DJing, hosted a panel discussion and generally galavanted around with fellow attendees/comics luminaries Jason Aaron, Frank Quitely, Darick Robertson and Gerard Way (there to perform ‘The Con’, "a thirty minute spoken-word piece with music. Part short story, part history, part occult ritual, as Howard Hughes faces Liberace in a duel to the death for the soul of Las Vegas like any good") like any good "psychedigital Moses" should.

Here’s Morrison speaking on Akira’s panel:

There are more videos and full reports over at Akira’s website, here and here, with day three’s report coming shortly.

In the meantime, have a listen to Akira’s recent Quietus mix (and hotly discussed topic on the panel) ‘ZION 2012: The Apocalympics’ below:
