The Quietus 'Take Over' 6 Music Tonight!
John Doran , September 2nd, 2012 06:57

UPDATE: Those wanting to hear the Foxxy remix or any of the other tunes can do by using the listen again function.

Well, of course, we don't really, but we're happy to have been asked to do half an hour of programming for the Now Listening show, hosted by none other than Mr Tom Robinson!

The show on BBC 6 Music goes out at 6pm tonight (Sunday) and Quietus Ed, John Doran has chosen a playlist that runs between 6.30 - 7.00pm.

Among the many tracks getting an airing tonight is 'Can't Take No More' by The Bug and Daddy Freddy, the first release in his vinyl only Acid Ragga series, as well as new tracks by Toy, Cat Power, Turbonegro and a classic by The Fall.

Also tonight, the show has the world exclusive play of the Oh The Gilt remix of John Foxx's 'Underpass'. Oh The Gilt happen to be Quietus Ed and Quietus writer John Doran and John Tatlock in remixing mode. The pair used to run a club night together five or six years ago called Big Sexy Land, and they wanted another excuse to sit up all night smoking cigarettes, arguing about David Bowie's output in the 1990s and ranking Peter Gabriel albums, while putting rigid acid house patterns under pop songs.

Anyone wanting to complain about this flagrant misuse of power can tweet their disgust to @bbc6music and use the hashtag #Blog6Music and of course to us @theQuietus
