Baroness’ Tour Bus Crashes

Two passengers being treated for injuries having been trapped after a 10m fall

The BBC report that the tour bus used by Baroness has crashed over a viaduct near Bath.

The bus dropped 10m (30 feet), leaving two of the nine passengers trapped before being rescued by firefighters and taken to the Frenchay Hospital in Bristol for their injuries. The other seven passengers have been taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath to receive treatment for minor injuries.

The band were travelling to Southampton for a gig this evening, having played The Fleece in Bristol last night.

UPDATE: The band’s label, Relapse Records, have just issued this statement:

"Baroness have been involved in a motor coach accident in the Bath area of England.

"All band members and personnel on board are currently receiving medical treatment.

"The band had performed in Bristol last night and were traveling to Southampton for a performance at Talking Heads this evening.

"All remaining dates on the band’s European tour have been canceled. Additional details to come as more information is available."

A statement issued by their tour promoter says: "It is with great regret that we have to inform you that Baroness were involved in a very serious road accident earlier today and will not be able to perform at Talking Heads tonight.

"Our thoughts are with the band at this time and we wish them and their crew a speedy recovery."

The Quietus reiterate these sentiments and our best wishes go to the band, the driver and their families.
