The good people of Q magazine have been doing a good job of things of late, having the Quietus chuckling all the way from Nottingham to London on a recent train journey, and turning in excellent features on anything from Laibach to free download culture and Gucci Mane. Now, they’ve put together a cover mount CD tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, and we’ve got a great cut from it to present to you here. Richard Norris’ Time & Space Machine rework ‘Rehab’ in the style of Lou Reed’s Transformer if he’d been imbibing pep pills in the sun, rather than giving off the whole mardy New York smackhead vibe. Also featured on the CD, which comes out with the magazine on Monday, July 2nd, are Manic Street Preachers, The Cribs, Saint Etienne, Hollie Cook, Temper Trap. Meanwhile, Time & Space Machine have a new single ‘Good Morning’ out on July 23rd with mixes from St.Etienne, Coyote and Leftside Wobble.
