Yet another sad moment in the world of music as we learn that Donna Summer has died after a battle with cancer. She was 63. TMZ is reporting that Summer died in Florida. They add "Sources close to Summer tell us ... the singer was trying to keep the extent of her illness under wraps. We spoke to someone who was with Summer a couple of weeks ago ... who says she didn't seem too bad." TMZ also says that the artist had been working on a new album up to the time of her death. There's only one thing to do now, isn't there?

Saddened to hear this since I was just planning on buying the original mix of "I Feel Love" since all I have is the Patrick Cowley remix. There's nothing quite as trailblazingly original as the 1977 version, though. Truly the most groundbreaking disco song ever. Eno was right! Summer and Moroder struck gold and then some with this performance/arrangement.
