Hippos In Tanks-signed, London-based musician puts out mixtape of own productions - listen below

Hippos In Tanks, the US label that have been woo-ing listeners over the last 18 months with music from the likes of Hype Williams, Laurel Halo and James Ferraro, have just signed Triad God, who will release an album through the label in 2013. Before that, though, he's put together a mixtape of his own tracks for the label - entitled NXB - which we're pleased to be able to offer for your listening pleasure - check it out via the embed/download below. It's very much in keeping with several of his HiT labelmates, who have recently been putting out mixtapes in a hip-hop vein - Dean Blunt of Hype Williams' The Narcissist II, and a pair of mixes under James Ferraro's BEBETUNE$/Bodyguard pseudonyms. You can download the mixtape here, or click through to Soundcloud here.

Triad God, whose real name is Vinh Ngan, was born in Vietman, raised in Hong Kong and currently lives in South London. It's tempting to feel that it's possible to hear that cross-continental legacy in his music, which combines delicate Sino-grime style melodies with hip-hop leaning percussion, sub-bass and the sort of rain-soaked synths that have become something of a Hippos In Tanks trademark. The mixtape was produced by Palmistry. More information is available at the label's website.
