Louder Than War has announced the launch of a new record label. Run by writer, musician and Quietus contributor John Robb, the site has attracted a wide following since it started in 2010, and the label represents a further extension of its ethos.

"There's so much great music out there that we cover on the Louder Than War website that we decided we just had to release some of it," says Robb in the text accompanying the label's announcement. "With the website now established as one of the main websites in the UK and full of new bands, releasing them seemed obvious. So we have."

The label's stated aim is to be as wide ranging as possible, from "Argentinian dark electronic music, UK garage indie, Dutch post punk... [to] indie rock, Indian black metal and Brighton pop noise". And that's only the roster they've already got lined up. These will be released as 7" singles - "the ultimate pop artefact" - and digital download.

The first two singles on the label will come from Cheshire-based Deadbeat Echoes, with 'Surge Of Youth', and Raised On Replicas, a four-piece from Brighton, with 'OMG'. Both will be released on 16th April. The label have also stated that there are future releases in the pipeline from Rats On Rafts, Mueran Humanos and Fawn Spots.

Robb's own band the Membranes, who reformed at the end of last decade, are also set to release their first recording for 22 years in April, with a special single for Record Story Day.
