Liars Album: More Details

Daniel Miller helped out with production

Finally, after months of snippets of sound and video posted online on the Amateur Gore blog, more details have started to trickle out of Mute about Liars’ new album.

The major bit of information that’s come out today is that some of the production work on the LP has been done by Mute boss Daniel Miller – the band had previously indicated they were working with one of their heroes, but said person’s face had been obscured in photos.

Bon Iver fans should note that the album began when Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill moved to a cabin in the mountains to start writing music. They then decamped to a large building in Los Angeles, where many of the sound experiments hosted on the Amateur Gore tumblr seem to have been recorded. Mute tell us that the album has seen the band working "more collaboratively than on previous recordings".

Said Angus Andrew of the record, which is released on June 4th, "If we aren’t confusing people, it’s not us. If we aren’t confusing ourselves with what we do, then we’ve failed." Liars play the following dates around the album release.

June

2nd – Field Day, London

7th – Nouveau Casino, Paris

8th – Tivoli De Helling, Utrecht

9th – AB Club, Brussels

10th – Roter Salon der Volksbühne, Berlin

12th – XOYO, London

15th – Ruby Lounge, Manchester
