LISTEN: Kangding Ray Remixes Battles
The Quietus , March 19th, 2012 08:15

Remix of 'Toddler' taken from upcoming Dross Glop remixes compilation

In case you haven't already heard the news kicking about lately, Battles are currently in the middle of releasing a series of 12"s containing remixes of last year's Gloss Drop album. They've gathered a formidable host of modern electronic music talent, from Gang Gang Dance and Hyperdub boss Kode9 to Hudson Mohawke and The Alchemist & EYE (of Boredoms fame). The third in the series is released today and for our money it's the most impressive yet, featuring the legendary Qluster taking on 'Dominican Fade', Sandwell District/Tropic Of Cancer man Silent Servant turning tunnelvision on 'Inchworm' and Raster Noton's Kangding Ray offering a beautiful, resonant techno mix of 'Todder'. You can listen to the latter above - some more nice, deep, dark electronic textures for a springtime Monday.

The entire series, under the name Dross Glop, is also set for release on CD on 16th April.
