The Quietus were saddened to hear that guitarist with Jagjaguwar Calgary noise rockers Women, Christopher Reimer has died.

It is thought that the musician died in his sleep at home. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to family and friends of the band.

Fuck. I've played Public Strain every week since it came out, a record that has been in daydreams and hangovers and just on because it was literally the only thing I could bear listening to. I fall asleep to it a lot. I played it for my dad in the car last week. Very sad news and condolences to family and friends.

Women are/were, for me the best 'new band'.
Public strain is a masterpiece, no less really.
I'd been hoping to hear some/any news about Women since they were close to breaking up and this is it.
Terribly sad.
