As we previously reported, a new song from Public Image Ltd – their first new material in two decades – recently appeared online. Entitled ‘One Drop’, it trails an album that frontman John Lydon has described as "not moody and terrible" and "completely experimental".
Now more details have surfaced about the upcoming release of new PiL material. ‘One Drop’ is the lead track for the One Drop EP, which will be released on April 21st for Record Store Day. It features the title track along with ‘I Must Be Dreaming’, ‘The Room That I Am In’ and ‘Lollipop Opera’.
The full-length album is set to follow on 28th May, and will be titled, simply enough, This Is PiL. It will be released through the band’s own label PiL Official.
PiL are set to perform live at BBC Radio 6’s birthday celebrations on March 16th at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. They’ve also announced two dates in Brighton at the Concorde in August – one on the 15th August and another on the 16th. The latter is sold out.
