The Mars Volta's new album, Noctourniquet, is to be released on 27th March. The post-At The Drive-In prog monoliths' latest missive will apparently, as usual, be a strongly concept driven record. Expect long songs. You can listen to one of the album's tracks, the very seventies-ish 'The Malkin Jewel', below.

In other Mars Volta-related news, their former band, seminal post-hardcore crew At The Drive-In, announced their reformation last month. They are due to play several festivals over the summer, including Coachella in the US (alongside fellow reformed post-hardcore legends Refused).

I'm surely not the only person who's thinking 'Can't get used to losing you'.

I wasn't expecting it to sound like this...
Took me a while to get used to it, but when i did, i enjoyed the pants off've it.

Oddly, some of the vocals reminded me of The Icarus Line....go figure.

Not that that is a bad thing...

I LOVE it, the vocals remind me of Marilyn Manson. Heard this on the radio and was blown away. They're pushing the boundaries as always whilst retaining their lush sexy retro Latin attitude. Bliss.
