Julia Holter is due to release her follow-up to last year’s Tragedy album next month. Entitled Ekstasis, it was, according to Holter, recorded at the same time as Tragedy, but without the strong theme (Euripedes’ play Hippolytus) that bound the latter together. You can watch the video for album track ‘Für Felix’ below.
"Just by the fact that the songs are not related, but are just each individually their own pieces of work, there will be a different feeling on the record," she says of Ekstasis in an upcoming interview with the Quietus. "Each song will feel more contained, and I see why people think that equates with a pop feel, but it wasn’t intentional."
