Clips of two songs from her upcoming album Born To Die

Lana Del Rey's debut album Born To Die is due for release at the end of this month (30th January), riding off a huge wave of equal adulation and suspicion.
Previous singles 'Video Games' (that song that ramped up the hype machine's blood pressure to near rupturing point) and 'Born To Die' have both already been out there for quite some time. Now we've been given exclusive clips of two songs from the album for your listening pleasure. Earlier versions of the songs were previously leaked online, but these two - 'National Anthem' and 'This Is What Makes Us Girls' - are snippets of the final versions. Listen below, and read our Lana Del Rey interview as you do so.

Hmm, sample tracks from Lana Del Rey's forthcoming album on The Quietus? Hark, the wind blows. Is that tumbleweed I see pass in front of me? A small dog barks in the distance. The church bell rings. More tumbleweed passes in front of me. Now, these sample tracks from Lana Del Rey's forthcoming album.

If she is still using the riff from Nirvana In Bloom in the National Anthem verse she should be sued for it

Why do people care?
I don't get why you feature this?
This always makes me laugh, from her Wikipedia page
"Grant's management chose her stage name, "I wanted to be a band but the label I was with and the team I had around me absolutely wanted me to be a solo artist. Lana Del Rey came from a series of managers and lawyers over the last 5 years who wanted a name that they thought better fit the sound of the music."

Imagine it, a music website mentioning an upcoming debut album by a popular singer. Why, it would be madness.

In reply to John Tatlock:
Sure fair enough, they can cover what they like etc.
Just don't like seeing LANA DEL RAY when I arrive at the Quietus,
save that for the EVERY OTHER FUCKING CORNER of the internet

In reply to Bobe:
If you've got the money to fund a bespoke Quietus designed just for you, I'm sure the editors would love to hear from you.

Oh so they get money for her Lipspace
Of course it's fine - just a bit of a sigh to see that face here

In reply to Bobe:
now then, we don't get any money from Lana Del Rey, her label or her fantastically minted dad.

I hope these are the fillers and not the bangers! Probably feel compelled to like them anyway as shes's much cooler than me!

Pure class - Lana's music is a breath of fresh air amongst the array of plastic pop that is mainstream music

That explains why you had no opinions on the horrid fiasco of SNL over the weekend. Her management got it all figured out: release it through the most "credible" music sites. I'm sure you're getting a ton of hits and perhaps some cash on the side.
Is there a place that is LDR free on the internet? If so, please let me know!
It's like the whole place has been bought out. Sickening. Nowadays it seems that music sites = the new US radio payola system.
