Since 2009, Alessio Natalizia, aka Banjo Or Freakout, aka one half of Kompakt-signed cosmic house duo Walls, has put out a Christmas album at the end of each year. He’s just made his latest available for free download (for the first 1000 listens, then it becomes a ‘name your price’ deal).
XA2011 contains versions of such shopping centre stalwarts as ‘Wonderful Christmas Time’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’, all given the sort of woozy, bedroom pop makeover you’d expect from Natalizia’s Banjo Or Freakout project.

This year’s album is quite different from the previous ones… Some of these songs are way less popular than the ones I’ve covered before and in general this one is a bit more ‘crazy’, but I think it goes quite well with the other two…"
