Plus! Live residency announced. Toy photo by Joseph Tovey Frost

One of the Quietus’ favourite new discoveries in 2011 has been London-based psychedelic pop five-piece Toy, who recently released their excellent debut AA-side single via Heavenly Records. We’re pleased that Toy and Heavenly have given us the video for ‘Left Myself Behind’ to show to you, watch via YouTube below. The initial pressing of ‘Left Myself Behind’ b/w ‘Clock Chime’ sold out in about a day – the Quietus managed to purchase a copy from the merch stall at their support slot with The Horrors a while back, but if you missed out you’ll be pleased to know that Heavenly are repressing the 12" for release on January 23rd. You can download both tracks for free here and preview them on the Heavenly website here. Toy are to celebrate the single reissue with a four night residency at the Shacklewell Arms in East London, where we recommend the Ghost Ship ale. These take place on January 18th and 25th and February 1st and 10th; for information on who will be appearing stay tuned to the Toy Facebook page. Toy play Fred Perry Subsonic live at the Garage in London this Friday night.
