Josh T Pearson tops list

Rough Trade Shops have revealed their top ten albums of the year over on twitter . Texan folk singer Josh T. Pearson has nabbed the top spot with his album Last of the Country Gentlemen . In fact the entire list is generously sprinkled with folk, though Zomby, Nicolas Jaar, and John Maus add some plugs & power.
Each of Rough Trade's top ten albums will have exclusive bonus material, but only available when purchased from a Rough Trade shop. Rough Trade haven't revealed the exact nature of all the bonus material, but a rather enticing 27 minute Julian Cope mixed bonus track is slated to appear with White Hills' H-p1. Perhaps it'll make an ideal Christmas present for your gran?
Rough Trade's top ten albums of the year are as follows:
- Josh T. Pearson, Last of the Country Gentlemen
- Nicolas Jaar, Space Is Only Noise
- Kurt Vile, Smoke Ring For My Halo
- Gillian Welch, The Harrow & The Harvest
- PJ Harvey, Let England Shake
- Veronica Falls, Bad Feeling
- Zomby, Dedication
- John Maus, We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves
- The Head And The Heart, Self-Titled
- White Hills, H-p1

looking at that list, i think that Rough Trade need to get some younger people working there. Josh T Pearson's record, is, quite frankly a yawn-fest and putting Veronica Fall's tiresome janglefest on there instead of say Metronomy, Shabazz Palaces or Iceage is VERY odd.

Not a bad list, but the majority here aren't all that memorable. They're just plain wrong with Veronica Falls though. Not even in my top 50.

I am furious because this arbitrary list doesn't accurately reflect my own personal taste.
