Due to our sloth expert being stuck in South America, we’ve had to slightly alter the opening night of Klüb Gütenberg The Quietus and Rough Trade Books’ top new adventure in nightlife. From November onwards, Klüb Gütenberg will feature a musical turn (in November, none other than Mr Luke Haines), a reading from a contemporary tome of high repute, and a talk from a gentleman or lady of Science. Next week, we’ll be having a slightly different kind of bill at the Old Queen’s Head, Islington.
We’re now making this 13 October event a FREE preview night – now focussed on a massive quiz challenge, plus disruptive brute-poetic interjections from the great Jock Scot and a compact blast of British Sea Power-related film, chat and flute from Roy Wilkinson, in aid of his book Do It For Your Mum on Rough Trade Books. THUS we formally issue an INQUISITORIAL CHALLENGE to all our friends, be they in the legal, teaching, shoeshine and transportation professions. Entrance free. Entrance to quiz £2 per person. Remember – the less you gamble the more you lose when you win. The more quiz entrants the bigger the prize pot. Music from DJ SAS Dirtyman, aka Ian Harrison. The prize quiz starts at 8.30pm.
