Producer Martin Rushent Dies Aged 63

Producer who worked with The Stranglers and The Human League passes away

The Quietus is deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of producer Martin Rushent, aged 63. Rushent – who worked with artists including The Stranglers, The Human League, T. Rex and Fleetwood Mac as a producer and engineer – passed away on Saturday. His son James, guitarist in Does It Offend You Yeah?, confirmed the news on the band’s official Facebook page.

Rushent won a BRIT award for Best Producer in 1982 for his work on The Human League’s Dare LP, and recently produced The Earth vs The Pipettes, the second album by the band.
