Terry Callier - What Color Is Love?
It’s like a jazz/ soul/ folk album. He was an amazing black singer who influenced people like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. He wrote these beautiful, epic love songs that were so rich. His voice and the record were just exquisitely beautiful. The arrangements and the lyrical content were very unusual and soundtracky. I was DJing with Giles Peterson at the time, there were a lot of psychedelic soul records around then, and bands like Rotary Connection came out of that world...
