Here’s one to file under "KICK SELF FOR MISSING ACE RECORD LAST YEAR". Last Thursday night I was collecting a set of posters from our friends at the Heretic Printmaking Studio when printer Luke started enthusing, with mad eyes, about a group who were playing in South London next week and who make a racket. We explored his prophecy, and divined that they are the quite brilliant group called Sightings, who released an LP called City Of Straw via Oneida drummer Kid Millions’ Brah label last year. What twits we were to miss’t! For any right-thinking person would surely agree that a record that sounds like maddened coves slurring over Pansonic and Wolf Eyes is something to be cherished indeed. Anyway, you can download and listen to their track ‘Tar And Pine’ here. Sightings are on tour in Europe at the following dates this week:
April 4th – Berlin, West Germany
April 5th – Nijmegen, Extrapool
April 6th – London, Upset The Rhythm @ The Grosvenor
April 7th – Tilburg, Incubated nights @ Paradox
April 8th – Paris, Sonic Protest Festival @ Salle Olympique de Gouges
April 9th – Nantes, D.A.F.
April 11th – Koln, Staedtgarden
April 12th – Brussels, Domino Festival @ Ancienne Belgique
