Quietus Mix 19: Cold Cave & Prurient's Unholy Alliance
The Quietus , March 31st, 2011 09:02

As Cold Cave release Cherish The Light Years, Wesley Eisold's partner Dominick Fernow (of Prurient and Hospital Productions) brings us a noisy beast of a mix

As The Quietus review of new Cold Cave LP Cherish The Light Years points out, one of the key pieces of brilliance in their dark puzzle is how the industrial and noise elements to their music give grit and gravitas to their accessible synth elements. Here, Dominick Fernow, who plays with Wesley Eisold in Cold Cave, guides us through some of the music that not only has had an impact on that band, but also shapes his work in Prurient, and keeps the shelves in his Hospital record shop (one of the finest in New York) groaning. Indeed, let your speakers groan as you listen to Dominick Fernow's mix. We're putting on Cold Cave, supported by the very noisy indeed Drum Cunt, at the Lexington next Tuesday, April 5th. You can buy tickets here. Prurient's new album Bermuda Drain is released in July.
