Broadcast singer dies of pneumonia

The Quietus is sad to report that Trish Keenan of Broadcast died this morning. The group's record label issued the following statement:

"It is with great sadness we announce that Trish Keenan from Broadcast passed away at 9am this morning in hospital. She died from complications with pnuemonia after battling the illness for two weeks in intensive care.

"Our thoughts go out to James, Martin, her friends and her family and we request that the public respect their wishes for privacy at this time.

"This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace."

Cant believe it. Met her last year after gig in Bristol and she was amazingly friendly and willing to discuss songs etc. What a great talent. RIP.

It's a shame she had to go so soon, but it's the physical Trish that's left, her spirit will always be here with us.

Totally gutted. Broadcast have been one of Britain's best & most interesting bands for several years now, & Trish was one of our finest voices. Nobody else compares really. Such a sad loss. x
