It's time for celebration in The Quietus offices this afternoon, after news reaches us that a new album from warped genius Aphex Twin is in the works.

No release date is as yet confirmed, but reports suggest that Warp have signed Mr Richard David James for another album - almost 10 years after the release of Drukqs. More information as and when we get it.

Aphex Twin will also perform a DJ set on September 26 in Ibiza as part of the We Love Space series. For more information, click here. Share

Did you actually receive some kind of tip from someone saying that the album is "imminent?" Because we have been expecting this album since it was announced by the Warp boss (forget his name) in 2009...

Perhaps getting confused with the new Analord album coming out on Rephlex?

In reply to Notrealname:

Nope. While a new Analord/AFX album is something to celebrate, as we all know that's not the same as a new Aphex Twin album. I've asked the source for more information and if they give me the green light I'll tell you more.

In reply to John Doran:

I wasn't trying to be snarky, just skeptical given the long wait I've endured. Thanks for the lame response to my reasonable question...

Also, I would be just as happy with a new AFX or Tuss or anything else release as an Aphex Twin release. The name doesn't matter; the music does.
