Edwyn Collins Joined By Alex Kapranos At London Gig

Magic Numbers also put in an appearance

Edwyn Collins was last night joined onstage by Franz Ferdinand singer and the Magic Numbers’ Romeo during a triumphant gig at London’s 100 Club.

Collins played material from forthcoming seventh solo album Losing Sleep alongside notable cuts from Orange Juice and subsequent back catalogue including ‘Rip It’, ‘Falling And Laughing’ and ‘Girl Like You’, which saw Alex Kapranos joining the band on guitar and vocals.

Kapranos also played ‘Do It Again’, the Losing Sleep track co-written with Collins and Nick McCarthy, while Romeo Stodart played his Collins collaboration ‘It Dawns On Me’.

Losing Sleep is released via Heavenly on September 13th, and Collins will play a full UK tour this autumn. For the full setlist, see below… and if you’re an Edwyn Collins fan and would like it to put on your wall, just email luke at the quietus dot com and we’ll put it in the post today.
