Figures out today reveal that he has earned the sum from posthumous record sales, and the success of the This Is It film. Rolling Stone magazine says that Jackson has sold 8.9 million CDs in the US alone since dying of a heart attack, as well as raking in $80 million from his stake in Sony/ATV music. All of this makes Jackson the richest dead celebrity – his earnings top more than the rest of the top ten deceased famous types combined.
