Cold Cave are one of the finest purveyors of stern noise pop that the Quietus has encountered in recent times. Prime among their dark yet romantic ditties is the blasting ‘Life Magazine’, stand-out track from 2009 banger Love Comes Close. We’re pleased, then, to be able to present to you a remix of the track by Prurient, aka Dominick Fernow, the Hospital Records owner and Cold Cave member who can be seen nodding aggressively as he dispenses racket during their gigs. His take on ‘Life Magazine’ drenches the track in miscreant static, and sounds like something that could have been on Cold Cave’s more industrial-flavoured Cremations record.
